About
Virat Kohli (born 5 November 1988 in Delhi, India) is widely regarded as one of the greatest batsmen in the history of cricket. A right-handed batsman and an occasional right-arm medium-pace bowler, Kohli has represented the Indian national cricket team in all three formats of the game since his international debut in August 2008. He is the former captain of India across all formats and has led the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) for many years. Known for his aggressive batting, mental toughness, and exceptional fitness, Kohli has accumulated over 27,000 international runs across Tests, ODIs, and T20Is. He holds the record for the most ODI centuries (50 ODI hundreds) and is the fastest batsman to reach multiple run milestones in ODI cricket. In Tests, he has scored more than 9,000 runs with 30 centuries. Kohli was named ICC Cricketer of the Decade (2011–2020) and has won multiple ICC ODI Player of the Year awards. He is known off the field for his philanthropy through the Virat Kohli Foundation and his prominent brand endorsements. He wears jersey number 18.
