Taylor Swift is now rethinking her wedding plans with Travis Kelce after watching the grand wedding of Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez in November 2024. The report came on Tuesday when columnist Rob Shuter shared on Substack that Taylor Swift does not want a huge, flashy event like the one she saw in Beverly Hills. A source told him that Taylor Swift wants something “real” and simple, where she can enjoy each moment with Travis Kelce without feeling like she is on stage again.

According to Rob Shuter’s report on Tuesday, Taylor Swift was shocked by the “over-the-top” style of Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez’s wedding, which took place last month in California. 

A source close to Taylor Swift said she “hated the optics” of the huge celebration and does not want people rolling their eyes at her own ceremony.

The source added, “Taylor Swift wants intimate. She wants calm. She wants to enjoy this and not perform it.”

Another source also told the outlet that the singer has lived in the spotlight for years and does not want her wedding day to feel like another tour stop.

Taylor Swift announced her engagement to Travis Kelce in August 2024 on Instagram, where she posted photos of the proposal with the caption, “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married.” 

Since then, fans have been waiting for updates about when and where the wedding will happen. Last month, Rob Shuter also reported that Taylor Swift was considering a “Gilded Age”-style theme before rethinking her plans this week.

Taylor Swift plans dream wedding setup at her Rhode Island mansion

Last month, a source told The U.S. Sun that Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce were preparing to marry at her $32 million Rhode Island mansion. The report said Taylor Swift wanted to turn the estate into a flower-filled garden space.

The source explained that Taylor Swift dreams of “a wave of flowers everywhere,” including white, purple, and pink orchids, along with hydrangeas and peonies in many colors. She wants the wedding to feel like “a sea of flowers” surrounding her.

Plans also include a full weekend celebration from Friday to Sunday, with close friends Gigi Hadid and Selena Gomez expected to be bridesmaids. 

The same source said Taylor Swift has been planning each detail carefully to keep the event sweet, calm, and personal.

The wedding planning for Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce continues, but for now, the singer seems focused on keeping it real and keeping it close.
