The young quarterback, Spencer Rattler, landed his first professional contract when the New Orleans Saints selected him in the fifth round (150th overall) of the 2024 NFL Draft. While not near the affordability range of blockbuster deals reserved for surefire top picks, the deal still puts Rattler in a good place financially as he works to establish himself in the league.
Spencer Rattler’s rookie contract and salary breakdown
Rattler’s contract is a four-year pact through the 2027 season, totaling roughly $4,356,480, with an average annual value of $1,089,120. The deal features a signing bonus of $336,480, the only guaranteed money from the contract. Rattler’s deal does not come with a fifth-year option since he was not a first-round pick.
Rattler has a base salary of $795,000 in 2024 and a cap hit, with a prorated bonus factored in, of $879,120. He has a base salary of $960,000 in 2025, which will carry a projected cap number of $1,044,120. From there, things only build up slowly, starting with $1,075,000 in 2026 and $1,190,000 in 2027, both with the same prorated bonus distribution.

If the 2024 salary and bonus are the only new earnings in Rattler’s career, he’ll have made $1,131,480, all paid money to date. The total could reach as high as $4.356 million if he’s paid during each year of the contract.
Spencer Rattler’s career earnings, endorsements, and net worth
Due to his lack of experience and the unguaranteed nature of much of his contract, Rattler’s financial upside depends entirely on his performance, roster status, and future contracts. In the grand scheme, his rookie earnings provide a decent buffer, but the bigger paydays are still to come if he earns a larger role or a second contract.
The net worth estimates are public, but they diverge. Part of Rattler’s net worth is tentatively calculated as high as $956,000, driven by endorsements and Name, Image and Likeness deals, one of them apparently for Dick Dyer Mercedes-Benz. Some estimates are more bullish, suggesting his fortune could exceed $1 million when factoring in expected earnings, bonuses, investments, and additional deals.

The quality of Rattler’s financial profile is pretty normal for a mid-round rookie quarterback at this point: a decent amount of guaranteed money, upside depending on future play, and a ticket to wealth should he remain able to take the field or get any type of more lucrative second deal.
