On Wednesday, December 4, Anderson publicly rejected what she called a false and damaging accusation, saying her name was unfairly pulled into a private email dispute. Josina Anderson denies Zac Jackson allegation and defends Shedeur Sanders coverage

The controversy began after Zac Jackson, a Browns beat writer for The Athletic, spoke on a podcast earlier this week about receiving hostile emails. Jackson claimed the sender used the last name Anderson and suggested the person was related to Josina Anderson. 

He went further by implying that the messages were linked to Anderson’s ongoing criticism of Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski and media treatment of Shedeur Sanders.

After clips from the podcast were shared by Awful Announcing on X, formerly Twitter, Josina Anderson responded directly on Wednesday afternoon. She rejected the claim in clear terms. 

“This defamatory accusation from @AkronJackson is categorically false,” Anderson wrote. She said she does not have a sister named Sheila Anderson and confirmed no family member contacted Jackson in any form.

Anderson also criticized Jackson for sharing the story without reaching out to her first. “I can’t believe that Jackson would share this story without checking with me and verifying the claim,” she added. 

Anderson noted she is considering appropriate action. As of Friday morning, Zac Jackson has not issued a public response or clarification.

Shedeur Sanders focuses on Week 14 matchup as Browns face Cam Ward and Titans

Away from the media dispute, Shedeur Sanders is preparing for his third career NFL start. The Cleveland Browns are set to face the Tennessee Titans in Week 14 on Sunday, December 8, in Nashville.

Sanders will lead a Browns team holding a 3–9 record against a struggling Titans squad at 1–11. The game also brings a quarterback storyline. Tennessee is led by Cam Ward, the first overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.

Both Ward and Sanders were once projected as top draft quarterbacks before Sanders slid to the fifth round, where Cleveland selected him. Injuries and roster changes later opened the door for his first NFL starts.
