Madison Beer, who is dating Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert, opened up about the darkest time in her life. She spoke about it on the Call Her Daddy podcast with host Alex Cooper. Madison said she had very scary thoughts when she was a teenager. She also said she tried to take her own life two times back then. She shared that she is very thankful today that she did not succeed.
Madison said these thoughts started very young. She told Alex Cooper, “I know this is horrible and dark, but at like 15 years old… I would always say I know I’m going to die from suicide. I know. And now that makes me so sad because I think about that child who was hurting and felt like she was screaming into a void all the time.”
She also said, “I thought that everyone on the face of this earth would have rathered me dead. And so I did attempt um twice. And yeah, I’m really grateful that I was obviously unsuccessful, but people need to understand that it’s really serious. And my life was almost over. Like I almost died.”
Madison Beer explained that a big part of her pain came from her private photos being leaked online when she was young. She said she trusted someone she knew, and that person shared her photos on the internet without her permission. Madison said this made her feel alone, scared, and hurt for many years.

Justin Herbert’s support helped Madison Beer feel safe again
Later in the podcast, Madison Beer also talked about her relationship with Justin Herbert. She said he has been very loving and very steady in her life. She told Alex Cooper, “I feel, like, taken care of in a way that I can break down and I have someone to lean on. And I think it’s important.”
Justin Herbert and Madison Beer were first seen together earlier this year. Since then, she has been seen at many Chargers games cheering for him. She was even at the Monday night game when Justin Herbert led the Chargers to an overtime win against the Philadelphia Eagles. She shared cute photos from the stadium, including one with Santa Claus.
Madison Beer’s story shows how much pain she carried as a child, and how support, love, and honesty can help someone heal. Her words also remind people to take mental health very seriously.
