Kevin Stefanski slammed by Emmanuel Acho for protecting Dillon Gabriel while Shedeur Sanders waits for first NFL snap

On Sunday, November 10, 2025, in Cleveland, Ohio, the Cleveland Browns, coached by Kevin Stefanski, lost 27–20 to the New York Jets in Week 10 of the NFL 2025 season. It was their seventh loss of the season and their fourth straight defeat with rookie quarterback Dillon Gabriel as the starter. The following day, on Monday, November 11, sports analyst Emmanuel Acho reacted strongly on The Speakeasy Show. He criticized Stefanski for refusing to give rookie Shedeur Sanders a chance to play and warned that the decision could spark a huge backlash. Acho’s comments quickly spread across social media, adding more pressure on the Browns’ already struggling coach.

During the live broadcast, Emmanuel Acho didn’t hold back. “If Kevin Stefanski says Shedeur’s not playing the season, all of Black America will riot,” Acho said. “Every hood, every MLK Boulevard, everybody rioting.”

Acho said the Browns can’t keep using Dillon Gabriel, claiming both fans and players are tired of seeing him on the field. 

He added that the Browns’ offense looks flat and predictable, and that Kevin Stefanski is ignoring what everyone else can see, the team needs a spark.

Dillon Gabriel, who replaced Joe Flacco in Week 5, has struggled since taking over. In seven games and five starts, Gabriel has 869 passing yards, seven touchdowns, and two interceptions, holding a 1–4 record as a starter. 

Many believe that Shedeur Sanders, drafted from Colorado in the fifth round of the 2025 NFL Draft, could be the answer to Cleveland’s offensive problems.

Kevin Stefanski sticks with Dillon Gabriel as Shedeur Sanders waits

Even after the public criticism, Kevin Stefanski made it clear he is sticking with Dillon Gabriel. After Sunday’s loss, Stefanski told reporters the team needs “consistency, not chaos,” as reported by Reuters (Oct 26, 2025).

Having not yet taken a single NFL snap, Shedeur Sanders is the son of NFL great Deion Sanders. Though he never got in the game, he was spotted warming up at MetLife Stadium against the Jets. 

Fans have gotten angry, thinking Sanders should be given a true chance to prove himself. Currently at 2–7, the Cleveland Browns will play the Baltimore Ravens (4–5) in Week 11 at Huntington Bank Field in Cleveland on Sunday, November 17, 2025. 

The Ravens have won three straight; the Browns have two defeats. According to Dawgs By Nature (Nov 10, 2025), Stefanski has made one major change: offensive coordinator Tommy Rees will take over play-calling duties. 

Whether that helps Dillon Gabriel turn things around or opens the door for Shedeur Sanders remains the biggest question going into Week 11.
