Aaron Jones stirs emotions with strong message on scoring against Packers in huge Lambeau Field comeback

Aaron Jones is getting ready for a special return to Lambeau Field on Sunday when the Minnesota Vikings play the Green Bay Packers in their Week 12 game in Green Bay. He spent seven seasons with the Packers before joining the Vikings last year, and he told reporters on Wednesday that this visit feels different. Aaron Jones said he wants to score this time because he missed the end zone in his last game there as a visitor. He said he wants to feel what he called “the end zone smell” again.

When Aaron Jones spoke to reporters on Wednesday, he said he feels more excited for this game because he wants to reach the end zone at Lambeau Field. 

He said, “I think I’m more excited about it this year than I was last year because I didn’t get in last year. So, I got to smell the end zone.” He also said he wants to try the “Lambeau Leap” again, even though it feels different when you play for the other team.

Aaron Jones did not score but carried the ball 22 times for 93 yards and caught four passes for 46 yards in Week 5 of the 2024 season, his last game at Lambeau Field, when the Minnesota Vikings defeated the Green Bay Packers 31–29. 

That stopped him from performing the many times he had done as a packer. Chosen by Green Bay at No. 182 in 2017, Aaron Jones finished his time there with 5,940 rushing yards and 45 touchdowns, the third-most ever on team annals. 

The Minnesota Vikings, at 4-6, must win this weekend to keep alive in the playoff hunt. Aaron Jones stated he hoped to give the run game vitality and support his team forward.

Aaron Jones’ injuries slowed him in 2025 but he returned strong in Week 11

Due to injuries, Aaron Jones missed many games this year; the Minnesota Vikings foundered without him. Starting the year strong in Week 1 against the Chicago Bears, he had 23 running yards, 44 receiving yards, and a receiving touchdown. 

On September 14, 2025, however, he suffered a hamstring injury while playing against the Atlanta Falcons and departed in the second quarter after five carries for 23 yards. 

Two days later, the Minnesota Vikings put him on injured reserve, therefore missing four games. Returning on October 23 for the Week 8 Los Angeles Chargers game, he ended with 15 rushing yards and 15 receiving yards.

In Week 11, he recorded 16 carries for 70 yards and assisted Jordan Mason push the run game to 115 total rushing yards against the Chicago Bears.
