Smriti Mandhana was seen in public for the first time days after calling off her wedding with music composer Palash Muchhal. The Indian women’s cricket star was spotted at an airport on Wednesday, where she kept a low profile and avoided media interaction. The sighting came after Smriti Mandhana and Palash Muchhal jointly announced that their wedding, scheduled for November 23 in Sangli, Maharashtra, had been canceled. The unexpected move shocked fans, as pre-wedding events had already begun and both families were involved.

Smriti Mandhana makes quiet airport appearance after wedding cancellation

Smriti Mandhana was captured on camera by a paparazzo outside the airport on Wednesday. The video, which later surfaced online, showed Smriti Mandhana wearing a black mask and casual clothes as she walked out of the terminal.

She did not stop to talk to photographers and quickly got into her car. The location of the airport was not disclosed, but the clip spread widely across social media platforms within hours.

Soon after the video was shared, fans flooded the comment section with emotional messages. Many users praised Smriti Mandhana for staying strong during a difficult personal phase.

One comment read, “She is so strong.” Another user wrote, “Proud of you, always.” Some fans also questioned the constant attention. A comment said, “Can the media please leave Smriti alone? Let her heal and focus on her life.”

Before this appearance, Smriti Mandhana had mostly stayed away from public view following the announcement. However, she was seen a few days earlier training in the nets as India prepared for the upcoming T20I series against Sri Lanka.

The practice session took place at the team’s training facility, showing that cricket remains her top priority despite personal challenges.

Smriti Mandhana shares clear statement on split with Palash Muchhal

To answer the news, earlier this month Smriti Mandhana issued an official statement on her social media channels.

She made clear in the message that the wedding had been called off and asked people not to guess about her private life. She also denied rumors and demanded privacy for all those families affected.

Smriti Mandhana said in her statement that she is a shy person who would rather keep her life apart from public debate.

She also said her main focus has always been representing India on the field. “I believe there is a higher purpose driving us all, and for me, that has always been playing for my country,” she wrote.

She said that she hopes to go forward with positivity and keep winning honors for India.

Smriti Mandhana and Palash Muchhal were scheduled to marry on November 23 in Sangli, but the marriage was canceled at the last minute.

Instead of offering particular reasons, neither one elected to respectfully close the matter and continue on their own paths.
