Smriti Mandhana faces huge shock as fiancé Palash Muchhal is rushed to hospital soon after her father collapses

Smriti Mandhana had to stop her wedding plans on Sunday in Sangli, Maharashtra, after her father, Srinivas Mandhana, suddenly felt strong chest pain and was rushed to a local hospital. A few hours later, Smriti Mandhana’s fiancé, Palash Muchhal, also had to be taken to a private hospital when his health dropped during the same wedding week. Both incidents created worry for the family, and the celebrations were paused right away.

According to NDTV, Palash Muchhal was taken to a private hospital on Sunday night when he began feeling uneasy. Doctors said his issues came from a viral infection and high acidity. 

The problem was not serious, and after a short treatment, he was allowed to return to the hotel. A person close to the family shared that he only needed rest and is doing better now.

The bigger worry remains Smriti Mandhana’s father, Srinivas Mandhana. Family doctor Dr. Naman Shah spoke to PTI and said the symptoms began around 1:30 pm on Sunday.

His chest pain was on the left side, and tests showed elevated cardiac enzymes, which can signal stress on the heart. Dr. Naman Shah said, “We need to keep him under observation. Blood pressure is also high, and we are working to lower it.”

He added that if the condition does not improve, an angiography may be needed. The entire medical team is monitoring him closely, and Smriti Mandhana has stayed with her family at the hospital.

The wedding celebrations had already been going on in Sangli for a week, with relatives and friends gathered for the ceremony that was planned for Sunday evening. But Smriti Mandhana refused to continue after her father was admitted, and every ritual was stopped immediately.

Doctors will decide today whether Srinivas Mandhana can be discharged. If he responds well to treatment, he may be allowed to return home soon. Until the doctors confirm improvement, the family will not fix a new date for the wedding.

All remaining rituals will be planned again only after Smriti Mandhana’s father recovers. For now, the family’s full focus is on his health, and relatives are waiting at the hospital for the next update.
