Indian women’s cricket star Smriti Mandhana is once again being discussed online, this time for a small but noticeable change on Instagram. Days after she clearly stated that her wedding with music composer Palash Muchhal was called off, Smriti quietly updated her Instagram bio. The move caught fans’ attention and restarted social media chatter, even though she had already asked everyone to stop guessing about her personal life.

Smriti Mandhana confirms wedding called off and asks for privacy

Smriti Mandhana broke her silence after weeks of rumors by sharing a direct message on Instagram. She confirmed that the wedding was called off and made it clear that she wanted the matter to end there.

“I need to clarify that the wedding is called off. I would like to close this matter here and ask everyone to do the same,” Smriti Mandhana wrote on her official Instagram account.

The wedding was earlier planned for November 23. It was postponed after Smriti Mandhana’s father, Shriniwas Mandhana, was admitted to the hospital due to a heart issue. After the delay, speculation around the couple grew on social media.

Smriti described herself as a private person and said she felt it was necessary to speak only because of the ongoing rumors. She also said her focus remains fully on cricket as India gets ready for upcoming international matches.

“For me, representing my country has always mattered the most,” she said, adding that she hopes to keep winning trophies for India.

Palash Muchhal reacts as Smriti Mandhana removes emoji from Instagram bio

Soon after Smriti Mandhana’s statement, Palash Muchhal also shared his thoughts publicly. He said he has decided to move on and found it painful to see people spread rumors online.

“I have decided to move on in my life and step back from my personal relationship,” Palash Muchhal posted on his verified social media account. He also warned that legal action could be taken against those spreading false information.

A few days later, fans noticed another update. Smriti Mandhana removed the evil eye emoji from her Instagram bio. The small change quickly became a talking point online.

After the wedding was postponed, both Smriti Mandhana and Palash Muchhal had added the emoji to their bios. While Smriti has now removed it, Palash Muchhal still has the emoji on his profile.

Smriti did not add any caption or explanation with the update. Still, fans were quick to connect it with recent events.

Despite all the attention, Smriti Mandhana has stayed silent since her statement. Her message remains clear, her personal life is private, and her main focus right now is cricket and playing for India.
