Cricketer Smriti Mandhana became a big topic online this week after she confirmed on Monday that she ended her engagement with Palash Muchhal. Soon after this news spread across India, businessman Ashneer Grover posted a funny spoof video on Tuesday on his social media page in New Delhi. The clip showed Ashneer Grover, actor Rajesh Yadav, and actor Sanyam Sharma making a light joke about huge weddings. But the video also carried a clear hint toward the broken Smriti Mandhana–Palash Muchhal wedding, which many fans felt was unnecessary. Several users said the joke felt “too personal” and “a low blow.”

In the spoof clip, posted on Tuesday, Sanyam Sharma acted as a man planning his daughter’s “third marriage.” When Rajesh Yadav asked him about the budget, Sanyam said “one thousand crore.” 

Ashneer Grover quickly stopped him and said they had another meeting, which made Sanyam change the amount to “two thousand crore.”

The funny part turned sharper when Sanyam asked for star choreographers. Rajesh Yadav said no, as choreographers “break weddings and cause big losses.” 

Sanyam then made a small cricket-style hand swing, clearly hinting at reports linking Palash Muchhal and choreographer Nadika Dwivedi, who were mentioned in online gossip after the cancelled wedding in November.

Rajesh Yadav and Ashneer Grover both smiled in the video, showing they caught the reference. One user commented, “This was a low jab. Let the girl heal.” Another wrote, “Cheap humour at someone’s hard moment.”

The group continued the joke by talking about wedding places. They named Udaipur and then added a budget hotel chain in a funny tone. When Sanyam asked if founder Ritesh Agarwal would hand over the room keys himself, Ashneer joked and said, “Yes, he will.”

Smriti Mandhana and Palash Muchhal’s cancelled wedding becomes online chatter

The wedding of Smriti Mandhana and Palash Muchhal, planned for late 2024, was called off quietly. 

Both of them have not explained the reason in public, but Smriti confirmed the breakup on Monday through her team in Mumbai. 

Online talk had earlier linked Palash to choreographer Nadika Dwivedi, but no one involved has spoken about it.

In the video, the jokes continued when Sanyam said his daughter liked “problem people.” Ashneer then asked Rajesh to show a list of “controversial stars.” 

They even joked about picking short-height actors and said they had “many Khans.” Sanyam ended by saying he wanted Christopher Nolan to direct the wedding, which made Ashneer laugh again.
