Smriti Mandhana and Palaash Muchhal have taken another clear public step after ending their relationship. The Indian cricketer and the singer have unfollowed each other on Instagram. This came just days after both confirmed that their wedding was called off. Their social media move has caught attention, as it shows a clear change in their relationship after weeks of speculation.
Both Smriti Mandhana and Palaash Muchhal shared separate statements on Instagram Stories on Sunday to confirm that the wedding was canceled. Smriti unfollowed Palaash first after her announcement. Palaash continued to follow her for some time but later unfollowed her as well.
Smriti Mandhana confirms wedding is called off and asks for privacy
Smriti Mandhana addressed the rumors directly through her Instagram Story. She said there had been a lot of talk about her personal life in recent weeks. She added that she prefers to stay private, but felt it was important to speak now.
In her message, Smriti Mandhana clearly stated that the wedding was called off. She also asked people to stop spreading rumors and respect the privacy of both families. She requested space so everyone involved could move forward at their own pace.
Smriti still had the courtesy to acknowledge that both families need their space. But Palash’s narrative revolves entirely around himself ‘I, me, and myself.’

After her statement, Smriti Mandhana deleted all wedding and engagement-related photos and videos from her Instagram account. This also included the video of her proposal.
Palaash Muchhal reacts, unfollows Smriti Mandhana, and warns of legal action
Palaash Muchhal also shared a detailed message on his Instagram Story. He said the last few days had been very hard for him. He spoke about how quickly people believe rumors without knowing the truth. He called the relationship sacred and said careless words can hurt deeply.
The singer also said his team would take strict legal action against anyone spreading false or harmful content. He thanked those who supported him during this difficult time. Palaash Muchhal added that he has decided to move on and step back from his personal relationship.
At the time of writing, Palaash Muchhal still has the proposal video on his Instagram. The proposal took place at DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai. The same stadium later hosted celebrations after Team India won the Women’s World Cup 2025.
While Palaash initially continued following Smriti Mandhana after the announcement, he later unfollowed her, marking a clear public shift between the two.
The unfollowing on social media shows that both Smriti Mandhana and Palaash Muchhal are now taking separate paths. Both have asked for privacy and have made it clear that they want to move forward quietly from here.
