At Sant Kabir Kutir in Chandigarh, CM Nayab Singh Saini presented her with Rs 1.5 crore, a Grade A certificate, and a traditional shawl. It’s a moment that makes everyone pause and appreciate when a young cricketer transitions from hard work to such recognition.

The event happened at Sant Kabir Kutir, which is the Chief Minister’s official home in Chandigarh. Saini handed Shafali the cash prize, the certificate, and a traditional shawl personally.

Speaking directly to Shafali during the ceremony, CM Saini said, “On behalf of the Haryana government, in honor of this outstanding performance, Shafali has been awarded 1.50 crore in cash and a Grade A grading certificate. This recognition will inspire Haryana’s sporting talents to reach even greater heights.”

He further praised her impact, stating to her, “With her hard work and dedication, Shafali has not only brought glory to Haryana but to the entire nation. This achievement serves as an inspiration for all the daughters of the state; I wish you continued success in illuminating the country’s name with your stellar performances.”

Saini also touched on Haryana’s commitment to sports development, noting to Shafali and those present, “The government has opened nearly 2,000 sports nurseries to nurture talent from the grassroots. Our aim is to strengthen Haryana’s identity as a sports powerhouse.”

This fits right in with the state’s larger goals, like marathons, cyclothons, and programs aimed at raising anti-drug awareness to back young athletes. The Chief Minister asked about Shafali’s recent chat with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, praising her World Cup efforts as a true testament to dedication and resilience.

Shafali took a moment to thank the Haryana government at the event, saying, “We are very happy to have won the World Cup. The spirit of sports runs deep in Haryana, and everyone here supports athletes wholeheartedly.” She pointed out the collective excitement of the triumph, stating that it is for every female cricketer across the country.

It’s incredible to see Shafali Verma being recognized like this. She put in so much effort, bided her time, and when the opportunity arose, she seized it and took off. Moments like this really make you reflect on the true meaning of dedication. It’s not merely about winning awards or receiving money; it’s about proving that hard work and faith can lead to new opportunities.
