Indian cricket star Smriti Mandhana and filmmaker-composer Palash Muchhal were set to get married on Sunday, 23 November, in Sangli, her hometown. Their families had everything ready for the big day. But the plan changed on the morning of the ceremony when Smriti Mandhana’s father suddenly fell unwell and showed heart-attack-like signs. He was rushed to a hospital in Sangli, which forced the families to delay the wedding. While the families focused on his health, the internet started talking about something else when an old clip of Palash Muchhal and actress Natasa Stankovic resurfaced online on Wednesday.

The viral clip shows Natasa Stankovic lip-syncing to her popular song “DJ Waley Babu” by Badshah. The video was recorded years ago, but it has returned to social media during the ongoing talks around the postponed wedding. 

In the clip, Natasa Stankovic sings lines like “Duniya rakhun jooton ke neeche…” while enjoying the moment. In the same video, Palash Muchhal is seen sitting next to her, smiling and relaxing. 

The clip was shared again on Reddit, where users began discussing it widely. One user wrote, “This video is from years back but it always comes up when something new happens in their lives.”

The re-appearance of the clip comes at a time when social media is already full of posts about Smriti Mandhana and Palash Muchhal. 

Fans have been trying to put together old videos and photos, which has created fresh buzz online.

A report in the Times of India noted that people began looking at older interviews and moments involving Palash Muchhal as soon as the wedding news came out.

Smriti Mandhana deletes wedding posts as her father recovers in Sangli

Fans noticed on Monday that Smriti Mandhana deleted her engagement announcement video from Instagram. 

The reel had shown Smriti Mandhana celebrating with her teammates Jemimah Rodrigues, Shraddha Patil, Radha Yadav, and Arundhati Reddy. They were dancing with her and the video ended with a short look at her engagement ring.

According to India TV, doctors have now said that Smriti Mandhana’s father is “completely stable” and “out of danger.” 

He was kept under observation, and doctors performed an angiography as a precaution. No blockage was found, which brought relief to the family.

Even though he is recovering well, the families have not shared a new wedding date yet. Fans are waiting for updates from Smriti Mandhana and Palash Muchhal as the couple remains silent on when they will celebrate their postponed ceremony.
