India had a very tough night in Mullanpur on December 11, 2025, as South Africa beat India by 51 runs in the second T20 match. This big win helped South Africa make the series 1-1, after India had won the first game by 101 runs. South Africa made a strong score first, and then their bowlers came in with a clear plan. They bowled out India for 162 in 19.1 overs, and the pressure never stopped.
The most important moment of the match was the way South Africa bowled. Their fast bowlers kept the ball tight, and India could not find any easy shots. The player who made the biggest impact was Ottneil Baartman, who took four wickets. His bowling broke India’s chase very early. This turned the whole match, and India were always behind after that point.
India did have one bright moment. Tilak Varma played a brave knock of 62 runs from 34 balls. His shots brought some hope, but he had no support from the other end. The rest of the Indian batters fell very fast. The pressure from the South African bowlers kept growing, and India had no answer.
After this loss, India now have to think again about their batting plan. The next match will decide the series, so the team must stay calm and clear. Fans will also hope for a strong comeback, especially because the World Cup is getting closer.

Ottneil Baartman, Marco Jansen and Lungi Ngidi lead South Africa to a strong win against India
South Africa’s bowlers changed the whole match against India. Ottneil Baartman was the star. He took four wickets and did not allow India to settle. His fast balls and tight lines made it very hard for India to score. After the match, Baartman said, “We stuck to our plans and executed well. The pitch helped us, but credit goes to the team for staying focused.”
Right behind him was Marco Jansen, who used his height and pace to take important wickets. His early strikes added more pressure on India. Lungi Ngidi also joined in with key wickets at the right time. Together, these three bowlers made India’s chase almost impossible.
On the Indian side, big names like Suryakumar Yadav, Shubman Gill, and Hardik Pandya got out very quickly. These early wickets hurt India a lot. Even with Tilak Varma fighting hard, India kept losing partners, and the target looked too far.
With this win, South Africa will feel very confident. They showed they can fight back even after a big loss in the first match. India now must regroup fast because the series is tied, and the next game will decide everything.
