Australian pacer Riley Meredith confirmed for Somerset’s 2026 T20 Blast squad

Australian paceman Riley Meredith is returning to county cricket with Somerset for the 2026 T20 season after an impressive stint in the players first campaign. Full availability and high hopes sees him integrated into the squad for the 2026 tournament of the Vitality Blast.

Meredith had previously played for Somerset, ending the tournament as the highest wicket-taker with brilliant figures of 28 wickets at an average of 16.32 and an economy of 8.62, figures which highlighted his impact in the tournament. Now, he returns with form behind him and Somerset looking to capitalize on their run.

With the club having secured the title in 2025, his re-signing signals a clear ambition to defend the crown and maintain their position among the elite sides in domestic T20 cricket, which is infact at the highest level.

Meredith ready to reignite the threat

The Australian star pacer Riley Meredith himself expressed delight at the opportunity to re-join the superstar filled Somerset squad, saying he “can’t wait to be back playing for those fans” at Taunton’s Cooper Associates County Ground.
